A Prayer For God’s Plan

It is vital to state that God does not have ONE plan for us, but many plans and each has its own purpose. The popular scripture Jeremiah 29:11 supports this and says “For I know the PLANS I have for you,” declares the LORD, “PLANS to prosper you and not to harm you, PLANS to give you hope and a future”.

We are on earth to fulfill God’s plans and manifest His glory. As his children, we are considered to be in the world, but NOT of the world. Romans 12:2 states “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”

As I renew my mind and surrender to God’s plans for my life, I’ve chosen to share my process of testing and approving God’s will for my life in the form of a prayer. Although the title of this written piece (God’s Plan) may be expressed in singular, the reality on the ground is that God has many plans for us and his plans show us our destiny and life purpose. 

Heavenly Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,

I come before you, Oh Lord, to present myself unto you. I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. I believe that you have chosen me to fulfil your plans for my life. You have said in your word that you knew me before I was formed in my mother’s womb and had set me apart as per the scripture Jeremiah 1:5*. I love you Lord! As part of your plans for my life, you promised me in Deuteronomy 31:8** that you will never leave me nor forsake me. Thank you Lord for choosing me Lord!

As declared and decreed in John 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you”. I asked for you to reveal your plans for my life, and you answered me in 2 Thessalonians 2:14*** when you called me to share the gospel with those who need to hear it. Thank you Lord for your everlasting love and grace! I now know that my identity is found in Christ Jesus and that I belong to you.

The scripture in 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” … You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.” I am indeed the daughter of the Most High God and an heir to the King of Kings. Belonging in the royal family of believers Romans 8:17 says, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

So to you gracious Father, I pray with confidence and understanding of YOUR plan for my life and close with the prayer of Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen”

One of my purposes of writing is to live truthfully with Galatians 5 (Freedom in Christ) and to continue to remain in Christ and for the Lord to remain in me. Every day I wake up and pray to be connected, be established and be the difference in Christ Jesus. Therefore, I am writing to make a difference to the world. I find freedom, joy and God’s presence through writing and my writing is about helping people to find freedom, particularly spiritual freedom as the Umbrella of our Journey of life. Thus, let’s be mindful that we are also encouraged to be in the world but NOT of the world as declared and decreed in the bible, since we are citizens of the heavenly realms.
