Freedom is a Choice

Freedom is a Choice

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! – Deuteronomy 30:19

God tells us that He created life and death, but He wants us to choose life. What a good father He is to give us a choice, yet also give us the perfect and right answer.

Life!

In 2 Corinthians 3:17, the Bible tells us: “now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Jesus tells us in John 6:63 that the Spirit gives life, and the flesh counts for nothing. These words spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Jesus only speaks what God tells Him to speak, so remember that what Jesus says or speaks is truth.

You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32

Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life. (John 14:6) To know Jesus, who is God in the flesh, the Word, the Truth, the Spirit, and The Life, is our way to freedom! (John 1)

But first, we must know him.

To know means to perceive or apprehend clearly and certainly, to understand, to have full information of, to be convinced of the truth, to be fully absurd of, to recognize, to distinguish, and to discern the character of Jesus. In knowing Him we develop intimacy with God, the father, the Son, and the Holy spirit.

Now Go.

Get to Know Him.

Read the Word of God.

Believe the Word of God and do the Word of God.

Faith without works is dead, so you must be willing to choose and place action behind your choice.

Free yourself from Fear:

1 John 4:13-21

This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Free yourself from Filthiness of the Flesh and Spirit:

Galatians 5:16-21

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[a] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Free yourself from whatever it is that’s keeping you from choosing God!

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

You have a choice, but make the right one.

Choose God, Choose Life, and Be free.
