Love Is Everything: How to Become Love
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing. -1 Corinthians 13:1-3
God is Love and without Love, God says we are nothing, we gain nothing, and we are just noise in the earth.
Love is. . .
Patient: able to remain calm and not become annoyed
Kind: having or showing a gentle nature. “Helps”
Love does not . . .
Envy: painful awareness of another’s advantages and desires to have them
Boast: to praise oneself with excessive pride
Delight in evil but rejoices with the truth: not finding pleasure in what God says is evil and sinful but finds pleasure in what the truth of God’s Word says.
Love is not. . .
Rude: not showing concern; but polite
Self seeking: concern only for one’s needs, seeking to further one’s own interests
Easily angered: strong feelings of being upset because of something bad
Love keeps no record of being wronged: Not making present decisions based on past hurts
Love Always. . .
Protects: covers
Trusts: have faith in God; believe
Hopes: a desire with expectations
Perseveres: ensures through every circumstance; lasts
Love. Never. Fails
This is unconditional love.
In spite of what’s going on in life or how someone treats me
I am Love because God is Love
Become Love.
