Day #207 – Responsibility
Dear God I’m Grateful For Responsibility
.
I believe it’s a Spider-Man quote that says, “ With Great power come great responsibility.”
.
While we learned a few days ago that power is the ability to influence the behavior of others, responsibility means having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one's job or role.
.
So in other words, with great influence comes greater obligation and with great impact comes greater control and greater care.
.
Our job is to influence and impact, but as a Christian this impact is leading people back to Christ. We are called to serve one another and sometimes serving involves stepping into a role of leadership.
.
A leader guides their followers toward a goal or destination, and Christian leaders guide their followers back to the original leader, Jesus Christ. Our responsibilities lay not in our roles or titles in life, but in the impact or influence we have on those we lead to Christ.
.
When we accept more responsibility we are telling God that we are ready to share his message with more people. For “God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you.” – Colossians 1:25 NLT
